Netgear 4G LTE (LM1200) modem works intermittently.

Netgear 4G LTE (LM1200) modem works intermittently. I have a SIM card and an unlimited AT&T data plan. I called AT&T and said they needed to update the IMEI number and Then I rebooted. It did not fix it. At tImes I have internet, in the admin panel I can get 4/5  bars and then 2 bars and then suddenly no internet connection. Since we are rural, we have a cell booster installed on the roof so I’m comfortable it’s getting a signal. How can I stop the Netgear from dropping the internet?
Is it the SIM card?

It worked fine for a few months and now it’s so spotty you can not rely on it to work.

Note - connected to a Google mesh. The mesh tests are good so I have to believe the issue is at the Netgear.

Let me clarify, AT&T said they needed to update IMEI number, not me!

We want to help improve your hotspot connection, @LadyDiane.

These conditions may weaken your connection and slow speed:

  • Devices being too far from the modem.
  • Obstacles like walls, doors, or floors.
  • Construction materials like concrete or rebar.
  • Electrical appliances like microwaves and baby monitors.
  • Interference from neighbors’ Wi-Fi networks.

Try the following to boost your connection:

  • Restart your device.
  • Turn off or disconnect devices you're not using.
  • Move closer to your hotspot device.
  • Place your device near a window.

Some AT&T hotspots have the option to adjust settings to improve your Wi-Fi range and band. This can help improve your MiFi experience.

Change the Wi-Fi Band

  1. Select the Wi-Fi icon
  2. Select Wi-Fi Band
  3. Select either 2.4Ghz or 5GHz

Improve Wi-Fi Range

  1. Select the Wi-Fi icon
  2. Select Wi-Fi Range.
  3. Select either Long, Medium, or Short. (If you are using your device for your home, long is recommended).

Instruction may vary per device.

Please let us know how this works for you.
