Is Express DSL upgrade to Elite or Max Plus possible?
Hello, everyone. I have a U-verse Internet - Express DSL connection and wondering if it is possible for me to upgrade connection speed. Change plan page in my account shows me only available option to upgrade is Pro. But how about Elite and Max Plus? Is it due to line limitations or due to old modem/router model. I have 1-year old motorola NVG510. Thank you.

If you have a CUstomer self install, then your speed can not go over 12 Mbps (to get faster speeds, you need a technician install). That point aside, not all areas can get all speeds. AT&T has a database of all their customers and the max speeds they believe they can safely get. If your residence is inteh database with a lower speed, then AT&T believes that you can't get faster. It could be due to limitations of the copper wiring between your home and the CO/VRAD, it could be the cards in the equopment in the CO/VRAD, it could be a number of other factors. Your best bet is to contact the UVerse Customer Care team and work with them to determine the reason for your speed cap. You can contact them via the information below.
You can send a private message to the escalation team at UVerse Customer Care and someone will get in touch with you in two to three business days to help you get a resolution to your problems.

One more thing to mention is that you have an ADSL2+ modem (the NVG510). In general, the ADSL2+ flavor of U-verse will result in lower bandwidths than the VDSL2/FTTP versions of U-verse:
Contacting AT&T is the only way to know why the limits that are showing are there. You can get more information by checking the Broadband stats on your NVG 510, by going to http://192.168.1.254/ in your browser and going to the Broadband page. The maximum sync rate and error numbers will tell you a lot. You can post that info here (remove your IP/MAC address, if present, first) for our advice.

I would add to what my thoughts said that you're already experiencing CRC errors (packet loss) at the current bandwidth. That's not going to get any better at a higher bandwidth.
