How to get my cable buried?

A new fiber line was run at my house after the original one was damaged by an aerator. Apparently the original AT&T tech used aerial cable instead of burial cable.

Anyways, this was done 2 and a half months ago. The tech said it would be buried in 7-10 days. A week ago I called AT&T and they scheduled a tech. When the tech called me before he came to the house he said he doesn't bury the cable. A few days later and I get a call from the burial people and they say they can't have someone out until the middle of July. I don't understand as they had originally promised me just a week 2 and a half weeks ago. Now I have to wait 2 more weeks????

I am at my wits end. I will cancel my service if they don't come out within a week and I will switch to another provider. I look forward to cutting this stupid line off of my yard myself.

From your description, the tech on repair  2.5 months ago for damaged fiber failed to create a buried drop request.

With no order created, no burial occurred. You called last week resulting in a tech dispatch to create the burial request. While I cannot speak of all areas in all 21 state markets, I can state that in our market currently 4 weeks seems to be about the average time for burials. 

If order placed in mid June, expected burial would be mid July which is what you have been told.

Continued labor shortages in all industries is affecting everyone and everything.

ATT uses local contractors in most markets for burial. They (contractor) has to hire and train a work force, with all new fiber installs the demand being placed is greater than the capacity to perform all work in 2 weeks or less.

Note that burial should only occur after 811 has located existing lines, this of itself can take 1 to 2 weeks for locate to be completed. Then the contractor generally buries a week later.

We recommend calling the Buried Wire Center to check and see if it's possible for the date to be pushed up. You can reach them at 800-924-9420 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (EDT).

Going through the exact same thing ! 
It’s been a month since the temporary line was placed and no one has come to bury line . Called the bury center and it shows completed on their end .  Weird. Like 811 wasn’t even called yet . No markings .
Now a new tech will come out July 5th. Hopefully it’ll get buried soon.
