Damage to Gutter Downspout by AT&T Communication Lines Attached to It
Hello:
I have tried calling multiple AT&T contact numbers and transferred to different departments, however, no one has been able to assist me with filing a property damage claim with AT&T. On Saturday, 01/14/23, my tenants contacted me because their internet went out and the gutter downspout came down off the side of the house. There are cable/internet communication lines that run from the street pole across the street across to the property and the communication lines were attached to the gutter downspout and ran parallel with it all the way down from the second story to the ground and then along the exterior wall to the communication box on the house. Due to the recent storms and high winds some heavy branches/limbs from the tree next to the service pole broke off and snapped the communication lines, in which the attached lines pulled the gutter downspout off the side of the house and damaged a roof beam and the fence as the downspout fell onto it. I would like to file a property damage claim and have been having difficulty reaching anyone to assist. When I contacted AT&T on the same day to report the tenant's internet was out, I was told that a repair crew would be out that day to restore internet connection and address the damaged gutter downspout and received a repair ticket number. I was contacted by the AT&T Service Tech later that day and he was able to restore internet connection for my tenants. When I asked him about the damaged/down gutter downspout, he indicated he left it off to the side and did not repair it. When I explained to him the the downspout would not have been damaged or ripped off the side of the house if the communication lines were not secured/attached to it, he did indicate that the lines were attached to it and that if I wanted to file a claim I would need to speak to his supervisor and that he would call on Tuesday since Monday was a holiday. I did not hear from his supervisor or receive any callback or follow up on Tuesday. I called the service tech again on Wednesday and left him a voicemail that I wanted to speak to his supervisor and to request the process to file a property damage claim. I still have not heard back from the service tech or his supervisor. I would like to have this matter resolved and the damage to my property reimbursed. Who do I contact or what is the process to resolve this? Thank you.
