Att yard damage
Att has dug up my yard without any notice or permission. I keep my yard looking like a putting green (former lawn service owner and greens keeper). I cut it every day during Summer at 0.35 inches and now I won't even be able to get my mower over the mounds of dirt they left behind without finding some way to re-level the area. Att also dug the grass at the absolute worst time: right before it went dormant. There isn't time for the roots to re-take and the entire area will be dead come Spring. They also dug in an area which gets a ton of runoff and with no roots to hold the dirt in so there's a likelihood of a large rut forming over the winter. This area took me years to finally get erosion under control, leveled and grass growing. Has this dig taken place a month ago or a month later the roots would be fine.
With any prior notice I could have cut the lawn into sod squares and at least saved it. The workers trenched about a 6 ft area and clearly made no effort to maintain the grass- just sort of crammed it all back in the ditch and left. In defense of Att, in the past when workers have come out to bury cable they made sure to speak with me first and did a fantastic job cutting up the lawn prior to digging and replacing it afterwards. Perhaps I just got a crew that was in a hurry or perhaps they are not finished yet.
First, I'd like to know where I can look to see why they are running new lines. I'll be a little more content if this means we are finally getting fiber but if they just ran another regular coax cable, that seems like a waste. Is there a site I can review what infrastructure is being added to my yard?
Second, as I detailed above I'll have my work cut out for me come Spring. What is the best way to document the damage to the lawn now so that I can have crews come out and at least place sod once the growing season begins? Worried just taking some pictures and reaching out in 3 months may be ignored.
Any advice is helpful, thankyou!

AT&T claims are handled through Sedgwick, their claims administrator.
If you need to file a new claim, have the following information available:
Once you have the information together, call the Sedgwick Claim Center at 1-800-246-8464, 8am - 4:30pm CST
Once the administrator receives the information, they will assign it to a claims examiner. The examiner will generally contact you within 3-5 business days to discuss the report and get additional information.

Unless AT&T or their contractor (and it is likely the work was actually done by a contractor) had to file plans with your local government or PUC (and that entity makes that information public), there's nowhere for you to look to find out what's going on. AT&T doesn't publicize what they are doing in advance. The first official notice to the public will be when they start marketing service as available.
AT&T tried to do some sodding in my yard, but it's at the same time of year so we'll see if it survives. Most of my yard is, er, rather "natural" at this point, but the best area is where they buried the large box and tried to do sod replacement.

ATT's contractor dug 3 narrow trenches across my front yard to run the fiber cable. Yes, you can tell where it's been dug up, but hopefully with time, it will start to blend in. I said across my front yard, but legally the first 15 feet is not "my" property, even though I maintain it like it is. Now that it's been buried, how long before I can sign up?

It could be weeks, but more likely months. They have to finish constructing all the fiber runs back to where the "light" starts. And construct the fiber cabinets, etc. Then staff up for the onslaught of installations.

We're here to help provide you information on when Fiber will be available, asvevar!
There can be multiple reasons why Fiber isn't available in your area yet, such as the following:
If you would like to learn more, check out our article on Why Faster Speeds May Not Be Available.
We are still in the process of expanding the network to provide the most coverage to our customers. You can access our Coverage Map where you can check availability at your address.
If you would like more assistance regarding Fiber specifically to your location, we suggest creating your own thread so we can better assist you.
Please let us know if you have any further questions!

You make it sound so simple! It is not.
Filing a claim is a joke. Sedgwick took 2 months to respond to my letter, photos and estimate required when you file the claim.
All I got was a letter 2 months later telling me that ATT is not responsible for the subcontractors work. ATT hired them and pays them but will pass you off to Sedgwick who will pass you on to the subs insurance company who will pass you back to the contractors who will tell you that they won’t pay to have your property repaired. What recourse do we have? ZERO!
My 90 year old father cannot physically repair the damage to his property nor can I.
We should not be responsible for a ATT sub cutting our fence, driving a tractor like machine through over 100 feet of our rain soaked yard leaving deep trenches and bull dozing through a 70’ hedge of 5’ forsythia shrubs destroying 30 feet of them.
We had no notice they were coming and there was no city easement. The work order was not for our property and there are no poles or boxes on our land. They cut our fence as well.
So where would you suggest we contact now?

Once you file a claim with Sedgwick, it is no longer in AT&T's hands. Since the SUB-CONTRACTOR did the damage, that's who you should be dealing with. Do you know the name of the sub-contractor? If not, your local municipality should be able to tell you.
One option would be to take the SUB-CONTRACTOR to small claims court. SCC has a monetary limit of $10,000.
ETA: It has been my experience that a business will settle once they are notified of a claim being made in SCC. It's cheaper to fix the problem than be hit with a monetary judgement.

My neighbor got AT&T internet and they had to bury the line between my house and the other house beside me. AT&T ran their machine through my front yard ripping up the grass and that wasn't the area where the line was being buried. I have put an extreme amount of money into my yard this spring only for them to come and dig it up with no care or respect of MY PROPERTY!! My front yard had nothing to do with the neighbors line being buried in the ground and just can't understand why the machine had to come through my front yard and not the street. This really (Edited per community guidelines) me off!!!!!
