AT&T is in the home. Internet, cable, phone. Can I install a splitter and have Comcast internet instead?

Into the AT&T router is a coax cable that I believe supplies the cable. I just had to move home (got a new job offer today, though!!) and I have my own internet through Comcast that's 12x faster, literally. Can I get a splitter and run one OUT to the AT&T box and one to my Comcast gateway? Will that work? Is there another way I'm not just out for the internet I paid for this month?

If it's just a standalone router you can do what you want. If it's an AT&T gateway no. What AT&T service do you have, if any? Moving to the Internet forum.

We're happy to help clear things up, @MandrilaFreeman!

Thanks to @spoom2 for your helpful insight!

To answer your question, no. You will need AT&T equipment to take advantage of our internet service. You can, however, hook up a third party router using IP Passthrough if you want to use your own equipment.

Let us know if you have any other questions!
