ATT is Deceptive and Needs to Be Taken to the Woodshed
This past July 14, 2021 I signed my 87 year old mother up for AT&T Internet service. During the telephone conversation with the AT&T rep, I was told the $99 installation charge could be paid out over three billing cycles. I immediately told my mother about this and the pricing for the service. She lives on a small fixed income, so this was a good option.
Two days later she gets her first bill, which includes the entire $99 installation charge.
I just dropped Spectrum because of their business incompetence and only 2 days in with AT&T I experience again what is becoming the normal .... major incompetence with large "too big to fail" corporations. I own my own company and have been in business for nearly 40 years and I can assure anyone if I operated like these uber large international corporations I would not be in business.
I got on the chat line with AT&T. I was told by the rep, that this is not an option. I said I was told it was. I said I do not make this type of stuff up. I am too busy for games. I said it was a good deal, because the install was for an older person who lives on a fixed income. The first rep had no authority to do anything except make the worthless apologies over and over. So I requested a supervisor.
I re-explained the situation. This person, Ruban, was rude and totally useless. I told him I wanted to speak to his superior. He said no this can not be done.
I told him he was rude and unhelpful and that AT&T is a deceptive company. I told him I would file a complaint with my states AG. I have.
I also plan to file complaints with all my local TV and radio stations that deal with consumer issues.
The point of this forum rant is to get it into AT&T's record.
A soon as I can find an option to dump AT&T I will.

This is a public, customer to customer forum only. It is not an official AT&T Support forum so as far as getting into "AT&T's Record", this is about as far as it will go unless you file a complaint with the BBB and/or FCC.

I filed with my state AG. I filed with the FCC. I will file with every local TV and Radio station. This forum is just another place to put my experience. I also went to the AT&T Chat room and made my complaint known.
I appreciate your info.
I have had it with these international corporations that operate with impunity.
