About to upgrade from AT&T 18 -> AT&T 45 What does the Tech need to do?

@davemize I appreciate the response but aren't they able to run upgrade the the NID or add the line in the garage which is pretty much in the middle of the house and if anything replace the wall jack there? It would be closest to the power lines as well.

The Gateway needs to be in an temperature and humidity controlled space, which garages are not. There needs to be Cat5e equivalent cable with two usable pair from the NID to where the gateway will be (in Air Conditioned space, see sentence one); if that doesn't exist, then the installer will have to put that cable in. Then he will have to test that the Gateway boots up and connects properly (from inside that AC space).

This is all predicated on there being an available installer (as davemize said, those are in short supply).

@my thoughts For the wall place ATT branded jack are you implying the Ethernet wall plate? If so are the tech able to just add one in the garage? since like you said the wiring for ones i probably have aren't strong enough or needs replacement anyways? Yeah i might try and cancel it or change it to the 24 because i read that the 24 is able to be done outside if anything. But if possible, i would rather do the 45 and be over with it~!

@davemize I appreciate it! In the garage is actually cooler than my room (upstairs) where i actually have the router setup. So i think this would be more beneficial aside from the garage being more dustier but i do plan to clean it frequently to avoid issues. As far as connecting my computer to the router i plan to try out the Meshforce wifi system I've been hearing about and if worst case scenario run a long ethernet cable down there.

@my thoughts Could it be a longevity on having the gateway in the garage? because i mainly use the internet and im located 15-20 feet above the garage. My mom uses the internet only on her portable devices.
