Unable to access Pokerstars.com

With what's going on with Covid my friends and extended families have started to play home games on Pokerstars.  Pokerstars will host home games and allow people to play with free chips, there is ZERO gambling going on.

Last week July 2, 2020 I was not able to connect.  I thought it was a issue with my home network.  This week July 9, 2020 I decided to check everything out to make sure I could play.  Everything on my network was fine but Pokerstars could not connect.  I used the Pokerstars "network status" utility and is could not connect to the Pokerstars site.

ALL of my devices had the same issue, everything was fine but the Pokerstars site was not accessible.  I called my friends and they were all fine - I don't think any of them are on ATT.

I finally connected to the ATT Uverse box and used the PING utility and the box itself was not able to PING the Pokerstars IP address.

The IP is 77.87.181.63

The only thing I can think of is that ATT is physically blocking access to the Pokerstars site.

I am having the same problem. Now after 10:30pm CT I can connect with Pokerstars. All my friends that don't use ATT don't have any problems.

Both myself and another friend with AT&T uverse try to play with a group and encounter issues in connecting when everyone else does not.  I believe AT&T Uverse blocks the IP address.  Frustrating.

I have heard that because of the pandemic that Pokerstars has more players than they can handle. No idea if this is true or not but whoever's fault  it is needs to fix it, this has gone on for too long!

I have the same issue with ATT.  I turned off Wifi and used the ATT LTE

network on my Iphone and played for 5 hours on Saturday night.  I think it is a ATT router

issue

It could be an issue with AT&T's DNS.  You can report it to Support, but good luck.  You might have better luck having PokerStars support intercede with AT&T Support for you.

I've started having the same issue with my AT&T U-verse internet, and another friend in the group who is in another city but has AT&T internet also started having the problem.  As someone else noted, I am able to tether to my mobile phone (also AT&T) and the PS site works fine.

I Just tried it and it is working fine. It redirects you to https://www.pokerstars.bet/.

The problem looks to be one outside of AT&T's network.

It's not a DNS issue, I use an outside DNS.  It's definitely an AT&T specific problem.  I have a circle of 25 or so who play home games via pokerstars, and whenever this problem crops up, it is the folks with AT&T connections every time, and never the folks on other ISPs.  If I take the same computer and tether it to my Verizon mobile connection, it connects perfectly.  AT&T needs to fix this.  I have 1000/1000 Mbps up/down and it's ridiculous that I have to tether my cell phone just for this one site.  Makes me wonder what else AT&T is throttling or blocking.  Please forward this up the chain!!

I have the same problem but i find that if i fire up a free VPN service i am magically able to connect without issue.  Sometimes i can connect but when i do connectivity comes and goes and makes it unplayable.   I then connect the VPN and i am good to go.

Its definitely the ATT network and seems to me they may be blocking traffic to pokerstars for some reason.

I worked with pokerstars and AT&T on this.  Pokerstars said there were three ports that AT&T needed to open. These ports are 443, 26002 and 22.

I called twice to get these ports open to improve the game play.  Nothing has helped.

Hello, @neuhobbs

We can help with your router settings and provide some suggestions that may help you access the pokerstars website.

You will want to check your firewall settings and make sure all the PokerStars programming is set to Allow All instead of Block All.  You may need to check these settings in your computer control panel as well.

When you called for help with opening the ports, were you successful in completing the process and it did not improve gameplay? Or, were you not able to get them open?

If you were not able to get them open, here is a step by step guide to Port Forwarding.  It has router specific steps to open individual ports as needed.  Follow the steps under Customer Settings or new user-defined application.

The ports for Pokerstars are TCP, each port should have its own entry, and the port From and To range should match when opening one specific port.  I.E. Port or Range From 22 To 22.

Let us know if you need anything else.

AT&T is actively blocking this website.

Here's the traceroute from my home laptop, going out to the web through AT&T 1Gbps Fiber.

My nextdoor neighbor, also an AT&T Fiber customer sees the same behaviour from his devices. I use CloudFlare as my DNS provider.

Using a T-Mobile or Verizon hotspot, our laptops have no issues reaching this website/service (the same applies to pokerstars.com and the servers the desktop app use).

Friends using Spectrum and Suddenlink don't have this issue.

AT&T - STOP filtering my internet.
