SmartHome symbols

In the SmartHome app, there are multiple symbols (icons) that display different colors. These are seen in Networks > Connected Devices > Activity. But there is no legend or key to tell me what they mean. Where can I find the description key?

Hi Dansailski, we're happy to help you with the Smart Home Manager app.

Can you send us a screenshot, so we can get a better understanding of what you're referring to? When you select Connected devices, the name of your device is right next to the symbol. You can change the name of the device by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to the Smart Home Manager
  2. Choose Network, then Connected Devices. Only devices connected to your network will show.
  3. Select the device you want to view. Then, choose the more option (three dots). From here you can:
    • Edit device details
    • Add the device to a profile
    • Block the device from your network
    • Run a device security scan (if enabled)

You can get more information on Managing Wi-Fi devices with the Smart Home Manager on our website.

We'll be awaiting your response so we can further assist you.

Hey thanks for answering, ATTHelp Aminah.  Not the answer to the very clearly articulated question asked, but hey, horseshoes and hand grenades, right?

Sorry, @Dansailski, if I used SHM or could find any sort of documentation I would love to get you an answer.  Maybe one of our other ACES might pop in here with help.

The icons in the ATT Smart Home Manager app are in the attached picture. I’ve seen several people asking this same question but the Techs commenting may not have the app or may not have come across them. I’m wondering why they’re red or green. The last  icon in the attached picture, I’m assuming, is that it’s connected by Ethernet.

Thanks for posting this, @TowerGuy74 .  Actually, I think it was answered somewhere in the forums here since the last post in this thread but good luck using the Search function here.  🙄

The red/green is signal strength.  I guess the programmers were too lazy to follow convention and make fewer bars so they just made green good and red bad.  And yeah, that last one is wired.

What do the double shaded black icons mean under the device name compared to the not shaded single square
