Setup Slingbox Port Forwarding on NVG599
I was forced to get a NVG599 router after using 2wire 946 before. Since then my slingbox will not work. Att wants to charge me $15 extra a month in order to open a port so I can use it. I don't think it is right since before changing modems everthing worked fine. I also didn't have to rent a modem from them as I now have to with the NVG599. I am about ready to switch providers. Does any body know how to open these ports without having to pay them for something that they should provide. I also have Direct Tv. I hope they don't screw it up also.

Hi ccckaty,
We're sorry you had some difficulties setting up your slingbox with your new gateway. If you need help opening ports for your gateway we recommend following these steps.
Open a browser on your PC and go to http://192.168.1.254
Enter System Password when prompted, found on the gateway advanced configuration label

I've done all those steps and tried MANY more. My Slingbox Solo worked fine with my old modem but doesn't want to have anything to do with the 599. Your support staff is eager to send me to a higher-level tech who wants to charge me more for something I'm already paying for. Slingbox isn't helping either. To say this is frustrating is a massive understatement. I know I have a connection. I just wish the modem and Slingbox would communicate with one another.

So... take them up on their offer to PM them for more assistance?

Hello,
This is for NVG599 router, and NOT for the one I have which is 5268AC---it does not have flexibility as mentioned in the NVG599 router firewall; any further help?

Thanks for clarifying that information @ddthakkars,
Unfortunately, U-verse routers aren't capable of a UPnP setup.
Have you tried setting up Port Forwarding for your Pace5268?
Access this link for further information and instructions to set it up.
Let us know if this helps.
