Port Forwarding setup problems

AT&T is having problems setting up Port Forwarding for Tablo TV DVR. They have done it in the past on previous Gateways.

I suggest a factory reset and starting over.  What model Gateway?

It’s a BGW210 Gateway.  It replaced the previous Gateway and works perfectly with all of our other devices.  For some reason 2 different support agents at AT&T could not setup the port forwarding for my TabloTV DVR so I can connect to it anywhere via the Internet.

Not shocking that any AT&T "support" person wouldn't have a clue.

Does THIS link help you?

From what I can see, the TabloTV has a feature internally that will tell you when it's set up correctly, is that right?  That's a lot better than trying to use online port tools to make a determination.

I’ve tried numerous times to use the Tablo feature however when it can’t set it up it tells you to contact your Internet Provider and I’ve done that twice with the same result.  They can’t figure it out.  Tablo Support can’t go into my Gateway.  I’ve been able to get in to the Gateway but very concerned I’ll mess everything up so I haven’t tried to set port forwarding.

Setting up port forwarding is not all that bad, once you have the proper information.  In that old thread, the Tablo offered ports (e.g. 80) and wanted different ports to be offered on the public IP.  That's different from many applications, and maybe the AT&T guys weren't doing that right?

The other thing is that I always suggest starting the process with a clean slate: Do a Factory Reset before doing Port Forwarding (especially if someone has been playing in there).  Remember, though, that the Factory Reset will revert your WI-FI SSID and passphrase back to the defaults.

Thanks…I need to contact Tablo Support to ask a few more questions before I attempt to try accessing the Gateway.
