Internet stops working at night?

So around 9-10 pm every night my wifi turns off and i cant use it until the next morning why? This is a probem for me since i tend to stay up late at night too.

Let's take a look at your internet, @Thai

 

We have a few things for you to think about to see if anything may be causing this...

  • When did this start happening? 
  • Did anything change when it started? (ie: renovations, move furniture, someone moved in/out)
  • Does something happen every night around the same time? (cook dinner, someone goes to bed, a light switch is turned off)

We also have a few questions for you...

  • Is your router plugged into the wall or a surge protector? 
  • What is your router doing when the internet goes out? What lights are on, if any? 
  • If you reboot it when it goes out does it come back up that night or is it still out until morning? 
  • Is it happening on all devices or just specific ones? 
  • Is it completely disconnected or just too slow to use? 
  • Do you have gamers in the house or more people trying to use the internet at that time?

Well it happens the same day my walk jack got installed. It’s been turning off every night at 10 Nothing happens around then by 10 or 11 everyone is in bed watching tv. There’s nothing wrong with what it’s plugged into. By the time it’s morning maybe around 7 or 8 it’s back on and working like normal. When it turns off and I check the app it’ll say something about experiencing a technical issue and it’s just me using the WiFi.

Oh and the lights stay green the WiFi light (Internet light) turns off though

We have a couple more clarifications just to make sure we get to the cause for you. 

 

  • What TV service do you have or are people trying to stream something like NetFlix or Disney+? 
  • While it is out, have you attempted to reboot the RG? If so, what was the result? 
  • Can we have you download the Smart Home Manager app (login is the same as the AT&T Website) or use our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool while the service is out to see if we can diagnose the problem?

Mine too and I have had them to change out the box and wiring twice. This is unacceptable especially for those who work at night.
