HBO GO unwatchable because of buffering issues

Over the last month HBO GO has been unwatchable via UVERSE.  My internet speed is fine, I'm maxing out at 20mbps.  I constantly get a drop in video quality below HD & get a "connecting to HBO GO" message now.  Shows will play fine for 2 minutes with quality ranging from HD to horrible, then the video stops & tries to reconnect.  This is happening to me across many platforms including PS3/Roku/PC.  I contacted HBO about the issue & they suggested I log out/ reactivate the device/power cycle, etc. nothing works.
Other streaming services like Netflix/Amazon play fine for me.
I am starting to think ATT is throttling HBO GO. (which is awesome cuz I got this package specifically to stream HBO)

Anyone else having this isssue?

@RigidGhost Contact ATT Uverse Care on the link in my signature.

Send them a Private Message, on this link, and they should be able to give the help needed to solve your Uverse HBO GO service problems. They are available M-F 8am-11pm Eastern time (also around on weekends), response may take up to 2 business days.

This is not the regular CS/TS phone people, but the social media Community Specialists that know the people to contact to get things done. I personally know as they've helped me on a DVR swap and gone above and beyond.

Include your name, account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on.

Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply. Good luck 😉

This started happening for me last week as well.  I doubt this is a coincidence.  AT&T is clearly throttling HBO GO in retaliation to them starting a stand alone service.  I know that some support reps with give me the "Insufficient Evidence" response to this claim but come on....  I am able to download games 5.0 m/b per sec and have really fast (to US standards) download speeds.  AT&T is due for a smack down by the FCC.

It's like they want everyone to torrent the lastest episodes of Game of Thrones or something...

CLose to a month later, & still having HBO GO streaming issues.  Latley shows will play fine for a little while then the video quality drops & freezes.  I have to exit the video for it to re-connect.  Sometimes it will continue playing, other times it just tries to re-connect to HBO without success. Frustrating.  Again, had this internet package with HBO GO since Nov'14. Played everything perfectly till the launch of HBO NOW in April.

I totally agree. I've pinpointed the issue to my AT&T internet service. I typically get 11.5 Mbps download speed, and every other streaming app (Netflix, Crackle) works great. HBO GO constantly buffers. The only time I hear of the issue is for AT&T users...it is so frustrating. I can't even get my PS3 to function online, which really makes me wonder why I'm paying for a reasonable package with consistent problems. I hate being concerned about throttling.

Not just an AT&T issue. I have centurylink and its the exact same issues everyone is having on this thread. I must be a HBO server issue
