Best VPN Protocol

I’ve been losing my connection to my VPN a LOT and only connected to my home WiFi network. I’d like to find out if it is because of the various protocols I’m using or an ISP-specific policy.

IPSec, IKEv2 and OpenVPN have all been problematic, but the factor that inclines me to investigate policy follows: when disconnect happens, switching among protocols seems to be the only way to reestablish connection.

Intuition seems to indicate design.

Any help?
