AT&T 5268ac Router - Can't Connect LinkSys RE6700 Extender

Just had AT&T internet installed yesterday. It uses 5268a router. Connectivity for the router is fine.

But I'm unable to connect my Linksys RE6700 to my network. It worked fine with my previous service/router.

I've re-set the RE6700 multiple times and gone through the setup process. It is never able to establish a connection to my network (which it can see).

I've restarted the router, etc. Tried everything. Is there some technical aspect of the 5268a that's causing a problem?

Thanks

Don

Try changing the Wi-Fi Security mode of the 5268ac and see if that helps.

Thank you for the suggestion. Not clear whether you're referring to the method of authenticaion or the credentials themselves, but  at any rate I seem  to have resloved the issue:

  1. Using a computer that was on the network I used (on Windows) the CMD command window and "ipconfig" command to get the static IP, subnet, and default gateway
  2. Then on a different computer that was logged into the RE6700 I entered the information manually. It works.

I have re-started the router and the RE6700 extender still works so it seems to be a permanent solution.

Not sure why this approach didn't work yesterday when I tried it but can't determine that now in any case.
