So this is the community forum. Where customers scratch their heads and complain, and AT&T pretends to ignore them.
I just told ViaSat to cancel my order after 1 1/2 months. I'm pretty jaded by the whole business model of these rural providers.
They get the entire 2 year subscription fee whether I am a customer or not. What a business model. They actually know it's going to (Edited per community guidelines) and customers will be unhappy. This is their "solution". Don't add more and better customer support just grab the money and fail stupid.
Now I'm giving AT&T an opportunity to abuse me. I'm having a very difficult time contacting anyone who can answer m questions.
Like : Where will my fixed WiFi antenna be pointing? How far away is the transmitter? "uhhh, let me transfer you". To a number that automatically hangs up. NOT a good start.

Until the installer comes out and does a survey on your home, no one knows where your antenna will be.

That's obvious, the receiving antenna will be up high somewhere on the property. But where will it be pointing? We already have a Fixed WiFi antenna pointing to an antenna 16 miles away.
It's SLOW, barely faster than the old dial up modems. So of course I want information from this new provider claiming "up to 12MBPS" such as "where's the transmitter located?".
If they would answer that truthfully, it would also make it clear whether I'm already in the process of being Baited and Switched.
I signed up for Fixed WiFi, but it looks like I"m being sold DirectTV Satellite internet.
The one I decided not to get because AT&T Fixed WiFi looked better (at least on paper). I thought Bait and Switch was illegal under Federal Trade Commission Interstate Commerce and Wire Fraud rules.
What I'm seeing is another new customer being treated like a mushroom. Kept in the dark and fed horse crap--until the contract is signed.
Great first experience. I can't wait to see what happens next.

DIRECTV doesn't provide Satellite Internet, though I understand some DIRECTV resellers will package an Internet by some other provider with DIRECTV. Those other providers vary depending on your location.
A Wi-Fi antenna wouldn't be useful for this service. You would be served by what is essentially a Cell Tower in your area, the one with the strongest signal at your home. If you have an AT&T Cell phone, then your phone's signal strength and data bandwidth would be good indicators of what you might expect from AT&T Fixed Wireless service.
Feel free to continue to speculate. Or wait for the installer and see what happens.
