Slow speed on Fire TV 4k and PC

• We feel that once a Fire Stick has been altered it causes not to be functionable.

It is possible that Internet 100 would be less than Internet 50.  The first question would be if you will keep the $20 discount you have with Internet 50.   The second question is if AT&T has the resources to give you Internet 100; it requires dual pair and a short distance.  If you are single pair 50, 100 is likely if they have the other pair to give you.  If you're dual pair 50, then 100 may not be in the cards.  I'd have to see your stats.

There is only ONE generation of FireTV Stick 4K.  There have been at least three generations of FireTV Sticks (without the 4K suffix), two before the 4K and one since.  I have sticks from the older two and they do still work (although the first gen can be painful). AT&T doesn't support FireTV sticks of any generation, fully or partially, altered or not, so I don't know what the heck Lafayette is talking about (and that probably makes 3 of us).

What you linked to, however, is not a FireTV Stick 4K.  It is a third generation FireTV, aka "pendant". 

P.S.  Yes, I know the article on the Cable Matters adapter says its compatible with the 2nd gen 4K stick, but I think it was trying to call the 4K stick the second generation of FireTV stick (when it would have been the third if you wanted to count that way, and Amazon doesn't).  That's not even the weirdest thing in that product listing.

Thanks again for the info. How can I find the 'stats' regarding if I'm single or dual pair 50?

To find out your line stats, go to http://192.168.1.254/ , click on the broadband tab and look for one or more tables of statistics like sync rates, attenuation, noise, error counts, etc.  If there are stats for line 1 and line 2, then you have dual pair, if just Line 1, well you don't.  Either way, take a screenshot of the stats and we can take a look at what your line (or lines) looks like.

Well dagnabbbit. Didn't consider the adapter at all. That's interesting. I also found a comment on Reddit suggesting I might be able to to split my 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi bands with separate SSIDs and passwords, and maybe assign my Fire tv to the 5GHz one.
