Internet down while abroad

Hello,

My home internet is down (and has been down for over a week) while I am abroad. I can't get onto my account to message support, either, so I am making a post here. I am logged into my home internet control app but it says that my internet is disconnected so I can't reboot it from there. I need to make sure my internet is up so I can keep an eye on my home while I'm gone. What should I do? Thank you!

You should call and schedule a repair appointment, will need someone 18 or older who can be there during the 4 hour arrival window for the repair.

Family member, friend, etc who has access to the property while your away from home.

Hi, I don't plan on buying an abroad plan and I can't call support either for some reason. I turned my line off and even when I turn it back on it won't let me make any calls and I'm not sure if it's working. Additionally, I don't think the internet is broken, it just randomly disconnected one day and never reconnected. Do you think it would be enough to just ask someone to reboot the router?

Hello @htran02, we understand the importance of having your internet working, so you can keep an eye on your home while you are away.

We advise that you try using the Smart Home Manager app, to see what is the status of your service at home.  Also, as my thoughts, stated you should call and schedule a repair appointment, there will need to be someone 18 or older who can be there during the 4-hour window for the repair. This person can be a family member, friend, etc. who has access to the property while you're away from home. Another step would be restarting your Gateway

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of your gateway or modem. If you have: ...
  2. Wait 20 seconds.
  3. Put the internal battery back in if you have one.
  4. Plug the power cord back in. ...
  5. Wait for the gateway or modem to restart and your Broadband light to turn solid green.

Let us know how that works for you.
