EL52200 cordless phone won't charge
I have bought new batteries (the type recommended) and no matter how long I leave the phones on the charging base, the batteries won't charge up. What's up with that? I've tried everything

Could be the base failed. I had a phone on an enclosed porch where it was damp enough to corrode the connections in the base. Reconnect, resolder & bring in the house - good as new.
Can you put a meter on the contacts to see if you have voltage? Or, check the phone for continuity from contacts to batteries.
Maybe a good excuse to get a new phone with new features like call blocking or more numbers that can be blocked or bluetooth for cell or voice caller ID.
