Cannot connect Google Hub or Google Home Mini

I have tried connecting both devices to my Wi-Fi, with no luck. I tried the instructions in the artice, https://forums.att.com/conversations/att-internet-equipment/connecting-your-google-home/5defbfddbad5f2f606aa690b, and still have not been able to connect either device.  My phone and laptop connect without any issues.

To help you the best, we do have a couple of questions:

  1. Where in the set up are you having trouble? Does the app not find the device? Does the device not find your WiFi?
  2. Are you using a dual-band router? Have you separated the bands, 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz, by giving them different names? Is the Google device and mobile device on the same network?
  3. Do the Google Home App and your mobile device have the latest versions?

Even though you stated your phone and laptop are connecting without any issues, have you tried resetting your router? This is a step that can often be overlooked when other devices are not having the same problem.

Hello,

I am having similar problems.  What else can I try?

  1. Where in the set up are you having trouble? ANS: Google Home App "cannot communicate with Google Home Mini." 
  2. Are you using a dual-band router? ANS: Yes.
  3. Have you separated the bands, 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz, by giving them different names? ANS: No.
  4. Is the Google device and mobile device on the same network?  ANS: We jus moved to a new home.  Not sure how to check this. 
  5. Do the Google Home App and your mobile device have the latest versions? ANS: Yes.

Any help would be appreciated.
