BGW210-700, personal router, and a VAP2500 providing TV over wifi

I'm trying to get my mom's internet setup using our own router (unifi dream machine). She currently has a BGW210-700 providing wifi for her devices, and connected to that VAP2500, which is apparently providing different wifi for her set top box upstairs.

Is the VAP2500 simply an access point, and I can put that behind the dream machine, it will get it's DHCP address, and bridge the tv wifi network just fine? Or does it do something special, or have a static ip I should be aware of so it routes correctly, etc?

If it is just an AP, is it possible to get her set top box to use the wifi provided by the dream machine? I could create a special SSID for it if necessary. How are the set top boxes configured, via on-screen menus?

To be clear, you must use the BGW210-700 to authenticate AT&T service. You can place your own equipment behind the AT&T gateway, but you can't replace it. The VAP2500 is the WAP providing service to your wireless STBs; it should be connected to the gateway. The wireless STBs are intended to use the AT&T WAP for service..

Ok, so there is no option to do away with the VAP2500.

Should I have the VAP2500 connected to the gateway, or put it behind my router?

Well, I tested it, and neither the wifi or ethernet connected TVs worked behind the router, but work if they remain connected to the BGW. I suppose that's good enough. Thanks!
