Enter the gateway settings by pointing your web browser to 192.168.1.254; the device access code needed is on the label on the side of the modem. Go to the WiFi settings and disable the wifi radios. The connect an ethernet cable to any yellow port on the back of the gateway and then to your device.

B. on 'hp supp. asst.' website : " wired LAN1, Realtek peie fe family controller status, not connected "

Dear. Prof. Davemize,

how are you doing? today need to bother you again.

i accessed my BGW210 once after you teaches me how to access it, i got to setting page, but i didn't change anything.

today i try to access its setting page, but i's unable to get it. i recall that i might fill in incorrect access code in the beginning, then fill in correct code several times, still not work.

could you pls teach me what can i do to get to its setting page.

best regards.

respectfully,

Hello. You may have accidentally made a change to the device access code. To reset the device access code, SSID & wifi password to the defaults printed on the label, press the red Reset button on the back of the gateway for 20 seconds, then allow the gateway to fully restart. Once complete, the default values should be restored.

I'd also suggest that you download and install AT&T's Smart Home Manager from your app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). It's a free tool and will help you identify if there are issues with your service, allow you to run a speed test directly from the gateway, determine if you have good Wi-Fi performance throughout your home, etc. You can also access and change many of the gateway settings from within the app- easier than using the gateway settings.

Dear Prof. Davemize,

thanks for you kindly helping.

after 20 seconds reset, i still can't find anywhere to get into the setting page or to see the word " setting".

would appreciate you continually helping.

I've no cell phone, so i can't install AT&T's Smart Home Manager. thank you.

Sure, you can turn it back on the same way you turned it off. Tech support can not do this for you.

2. would it do any bad to this modem if cutting off its power supply every night?

Not at all.

3. my pc can't connect to internet when i switch out " wi-fi mode " in my pc. i did tests/checks on "network connection" : A. i found the words " ethernet, Realtek PEle FE Family Controller, cable unplugged( actuarily both ends of the cable plugged ) on screen. The errors you're seeing are all Ethernet (hard wire) errors. Make sure that your laptop's wireless networking is not disabled. Some models have a button to enable / disable wifi; check your documentation. Has your computer been able to connect to any wifi recently?

Dear Prof. Davemize,

thank you very much for the encouraging answer. pls allow asking again :

about the 2nd issue, if i would have turned off wi-fi radio and my pc failed, could i get another pc home using it through ethernet cable of my bgw210 to turn on the wi-fi radio ?

about my pc, able to connect to wi-fi. i value your point : Ethernet (hard wire) errors, could you pls give me more info ( my ethernet wire/cable is brand new and through test )? i think there might be errors inside my pc hardware ? which hardware mostly sounds like errors if you think so?

looking forward to hearing from you.

best regards.

You can access your gateway using any web browser (including mobile devices) from your home network.

If you can't connect to your network through an ethernet connection & are seeing ethernet errors on your PC, reach out to your PC manufacturer for support.
