BGW210-700 5GHz not working
When I log into my gateway I can devices connected to the 2.4GHz but nothing is connected to the 5GHz. I have brought multiple devices (iphones, ipads, laptops) within range and direct line of sight with the gateway but nothing registers as being on the faster frequency. The Wifi radio status shows both frequency's as being enabled. I'm out of ideas.....

Here to help, @Devin_S !
You can by pass the warning if you'd like to rename both WiFi channels to have the choice of which one you want to connect to.
If you do that and experience any sort of service issues, please let us know so we can provide steps to enable band steering again.
Let us know if you are able to connect to the 5 Ghz after renaming both channels!

Hey there!
What color are the lights on your gateway?
If you're not able to see the network, you may be experiencing technical issues with the gateway itself.

- They are under the same name. I thought about manually changing the SSID thinking that would help based on a previous device with a different ISP but it shot up a warning saying it didnt want me doing that. So I left it alone.
- yes they are 5GHz compatible.

I was able to change the SSID name however my devices are still struggling to connect. My ipad gave this error when connecting "If you network security is managed by Wi-Fi address (also known as MAC address, you may need to turn off private Wi-Fi address or modify your network settings."
is that a product of band steering not working?

Thanks for letting me know of the message, @Devin_S!
View the section for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch under the section titled Turn private address off or on for a network.
Give that a try and let us know if you still get that message!

Unfortunately it still wont join. No error message now. I also notice that it sometimes doesn't even show up in the list of available networks.
