ATT Internet -- huge latency
For the past several hours, my internet connection (1000) has been experiencing unacceptable latency spikes. See attached image.
I need a person to respond. I have already run all the troubleshooters and reset the gateway numerous times. The chat bot is completely useless.
We had some severe weather around here, so it probably has something to do with that.

Can you run a tracert to, oh, I dunno, yahoo.com and then post the results here?

I never would've believed it if I hadn't seen it. No more than ten minutes after I posted this message, the problem resolved somehow.

Ehh, that's how it goes sometimes. If there was a server having big issues the technology is supposed to spot that and make changes to re-route around the problem hop. However, sometimes tech doesn't meet reality. Glad it worked out for you!

@uscjd2004 if it does happen again, it's a really good idea to run a traceroute to two or three places. But before it happens again, get traceroutes when things are working great for comparison. Also, share your zip code or some other general location information (in case it's not clear from the traceroute) so we can help identify regional issues.
