2wire 3801HGV can't obtain IP address
I had the old 2wire gateway 3801HGV (ver1.0 firmware 6.3.7.40-enh.tm hardware version 000778-004) I would like to replace the rental gateway 3801HGV (firmware 6.11.1.29-enh.tm). My gateway can sync the signal with ATT U-verse server but It can not obtain the IP address. I had DSL connected but I can not get internet connection. Is this problem due to the old firmware? How can I manually upgrade the firmware to 6.11.1.29 via my computer? How can my gateway register its Mac ID with ATT u-verse server? Thank you very much.

HI @dxan_sj2922,
I am sorry about the issues you are having with your 3801. If everything is working fine with the 3801, you should not have to do anything for it to obtain an IP as long as you have active U-verse service. Firmware does not matter, because if it is outdated, once it syncs up, the first thing it will do is update. If still having problems, try doing a factory reset on the 3801, by logging into the gateway at http://192.168.1.254 and going into the resets and doing a full reset.
