Why is my internet going at 100 kb/s?

so my internet plan is for 3 mb/s but im only getting 1/30th of that. Whats the deal att?

I'm trying to play games but I cant because when somebody else in my house just lightly browses the internet, my ping goes to 999 and I get kicked. I am really mad.

Is it just Steam or is it everything that has problems? When did this begin? What are your modem signal levels(line stats) at 192.168.1.254 in your browser?

I have a wired connection and nevermind what I said earlier, it's back to 24K I think it's at&t's website, oh well, the 100K is still a problem. And I started experiencing this slowdown as of 9:00 pm, It wasn't steam because everyone was complaining about the internet in my house.

I'm not an AT&T employee.

Could you post your line stats as I mentioned earlier which can be located by typing 192.168.1.254 into your browser. You should see stats such as attenuation, max rate, noise margin, attenuation, etc. which(names) will vary depending on what modem/gateway.

line state was up when this happened, I remember checking it and all I even restarted both my computer and modem. I just chose to accept my fate of buffering 240p videos.
