Usage doubled
Starting about 11/21/22 my usage doubled and I did not add any equipment. CS replied to pay additional $30 per month for unlimited. Something sounds fishy.

Same thing happened to me! Trying to figure out how we are flying through data so fast. Says we went through 4 GB in two hours and nothing was on but Google home playing music for a little while.

We're here to help answer your data questions, Jebels2121.
You can check our article on data usage to find out how much data you have used this month, and how to calculate what your expected future usage will be. There is a chance that even though you have devices that aren't actively being used, they could be downloading updates over the web.
Let us know if you have any further questions.

@Donovan from AT&T there is no possible way we have gone through 180 GB in 3 days or 4 GB in two hours when nothing was on. It’s an AT&T problem. If you look at my history you can see we never used more than 400GB in the previous months. For my usage to more than quadruple is not right. Please do not tell me things are updating in the background when everything is turned off and nothing has changed. This just isn’t possible. This is something on your side and needs to be resolved please.

I called and spoke with a supervisor who said this is the first she’s heard of the issue and she would just document my account to not get charged. I know they don’t charge for the first two months. I’m just concerned that this will continue then I will be charged going forward when this increase is not from us! Our usage was very low prior to Nov - Jan. Makes no sense.

@Jebels2121 I answered you in a different thread. We have someone at AT&T looking into it so it's important to get as much data as possible. The more people this affects, the better our chances of finding the issue. ATTHelp is going to completely out of the loop on this, just as the phone "support" people are.
Please add a comment in THIS thread. Include any data you have from earlier billing periods (you can log into your att.com account and go to the reports HERE to pull up prior months.
Include the date it appeared to ramp up and how that date compares to the start of your billing period.

@Jebels2121 If you want to be part of any solution, if one is found, then please follow the instructions I've posted twice to you. As I said, ATTHelp will be useless but if you want to waste your time dealing with them then that's your choice and I'll stop bugging you.

It happened to everyone who was "upgraded" from 1tb to 1.5tb. It's a scam by att. They upped your usage 3x and are pushing you into an unlimited plan. IT knows what's happening but they have no to fix it. It was by design by att higher ups. Likely will end with a (Edited per community guidelines) (Edited per community guidelines)

We usually use 250 to 300 GB a month. Our billing cycle has 15 days left and its saying we have used 450GB already. Just called and got hung up on. I am using fixed wireless internet.
