Unable to establish ATT email account on new MacBook Air.
Every time I follow the AT&T instructions on how to create my AT&T account on my new MacBook Air it states that it cant verify my account and password. I've changed my password and obtained a secure email key to enter as a password, but no dice. Need some assistance.

Hey @Gino Ma, we know how important it is to have access to your email account, and we'd be happy to help you.
We'd suggest starting off by clearing the cache and cookies from your Macbook. There could be some data on there that is interfering with you trying to log into your account.
If you're using Chrome or Firefox:
If you have a Mac running Safari:
You can also check out these steps we have to set up or update your AT&T email on your macbook.
Also, please let us know if you're able to log into your email account on a seperate device than the one you're using. We're just trying to confirm if you can log into your account at all or if it's just on your Macbook Air.
Let us know if you're able to login.

I have the same issue. I can't add my att.net email address to the Mac Mail app.
I can log in through my browser to att.net which takes me to "currently.att.yahoo.com". Using the same userid (email address) and password to set up the email in the MacOS Mail app gives the "unable to verify username or password" error. I'm using the same userid and password as for the currently.att.yahoo.com website.
This is not a browser problem, so clearing cache and cookies won't help.

Did you create a Secure Mail Key and use that in the Mac Mail app? Not a Mac person but I don't think it supports OAuth2 (at least in some versions) so the regular "web" password won't work.
If you still get errors, use these alternate servers instead of the att.com servers.
IMAP
imap.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 993 and SSL/TLS)
smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 465 and SSL/TLS)
POP3
pop.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 995 and SSL/TLS)
smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 465 and SSL/TLS)

According to other posts, my Mac Mail (OS 12.2 Monterey) should already use OAth, so I had not tried the secure mail key. I had also read about using yahoo.com in place of att.net, so I tried that and it failed.
After I wrote my reply, I went back, created a secure mail key, used it in place of my password, and that worked.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of misinformation about OAuth2 and Apple's mail clients, some of which AT&T continues to post here.
Glad to hear that this worked for you!
