Customer Service Issues
I turned on my TV tonight and I had to sign in to the TV with my password and user ID name. Why should I have to do this? It would not take my password which I had written down. I ended up changing my password five times in attempting to access my account, and each time was unsuccessful. Now it says I am locked out for 24 hours...because ATT system would not accept my changed passwords it locked me out? As a CPA I am used to passwords and user names, and all five times the username/password were correctly entered.
DirectTV chat (real person) told me that I had to talk to the internet ATT people. So went to my internet account...and it wouldn't accept my password either and it also says I am locked out for 24 hours.

First let me say:
AT&T has spun off AT&T TV / DIRECTV to a separate DIRECTV company. Please see their forums here: https://forums.directv.com/
But instead of dumping you back on DIRECTV, something like the DIRECTV chat rep did, I'd like to ask to be sure:
Exactly what/when/how did you get prompted for a username password:
