Perhaps someone fraudulently posed as you to open an AT&T account.  You should ask the debt collector to produce the proof of debt.  If you find evidence of identity theft/fraud, you should report that to the police.

to future scam victims.

if you find this collection on your credit report, dispute it if you never had an account with ATT.

this company had been calling me for all but 1 year. as i never defaulted on any bill i never answered the phone.

then collections. if you find yourself in this situation file a dispute, mention that ATT or any other debtor is nor has ever been on your credit report if that is your situation.

less than 2 weeks it was removed from my credit report.
