ATT Uverse TV and Internet Down for over a week
My service has been down for over a week. I'm told that 5 customers are affected. The issue is between the V rad and the D slam. The V rad is 50' from my bedroom window and the D slam is in my backyard. NO ONE HAS BEEN WORKING ON IT
I wonder if AT&T is just trying to get us off uverse TV. Simply waiting us out until we get fed up and cancel. Is this the way ATT wants to treat a loyal customer for over 15 years?

The DSLAM is inside the VRAD. The problem may be between the VRAD and the pedestal behind your home. Or it may be a card in the DSLAM in the VRAD. IIRC, DSLAM is the abbreviation for Digital Subscriber Line Access Module. VRAD is Video Ready Access Device, or the box where the fiber terminates and the copper begins. The DSLAM controls the copper lines.
AT&T is having difficulty getting replacements for the parts inside the VRAD. They haven't been manufactured in years and replacement parts are hard to come by. They may be waiting on a part.

I would not have waited a week on AT&T since you are paying for a service you can't use. So I have a course of action for you.
First, call up AT&T U-verse @ 800-288-2020, ask for the billing department, and tell them that your service has been offline for a week, and you are not paying for service you can't use so you want a refund for this month's service or for as long as your service is out.
Second, go to https://www.t-mobile.com/home-internet and order that wireless Internet service if it is available in your area. There is no commitment, and it comes with a 15-day trial which I have personally done before without payment. It's $50 per month including the equipment (gateway) rental (not counting any promotions that are currently running). Unless your home has really crappy cell phone reception like mine (in my case due to the mountainous terrain and not the distance to the nearest tower), this wireless Internet service will likely be faster on average than your existing U-verse service (since you have the VDSL service and not fiber based upon your post). T-mobile will ship you the wireless gateway immediately, and you should have it within a few days unless you live somewhere really remote. There is also an option to get the service from a T-mobile store if you have one nearby although I have not done that. The FAQ for this T-mobile service is @ https://www.t-mobile.com/home-internet/faq .
Third, pair your televisions and any non-AT&T TV boxes to the T-mobile gateway like you did to your AT&T gateway. Next, download the U-verse mobile app as described @ https://www.att.com/support/article/u-verse-tv/KM1001371/ and install it on your Apple TV, Android TV, or Android TV box depending upon what you own. You can use that app to watch your existing U-verse television service over another Internet connection such as this T-Mobile home Internet service while you wait for your AT&T internet service to be restored.
Finally, if AT&T doesn't come through and fix your existing service within 15 days (or within a month if AT&T gave you a refund for this month), cancel the AT&T service, keep the T-mobile Internet service and signup for Youtube TV using the T-Mobile promotion @ https://www.t-mobile.com/tv-streaming/youtube-tv to get one year for $55 per month. Youtube TV has every channel that AT&T U-verse TV has and possibly more. I personally don't use Youtube TV, but I have family members who do, and it has been reliable for them as a substitute for traditional cable television.
If the T-mobile wireless Internet service is not available in your area, Verizon also has a wireless home Internet service although it is not advertised as being as fast as T-mobile's, and I personally have no direct experience with it so I can't say how well it works. Another option would be to use tethering/personal hotspot on your phones as a short-term solution until AT&T gets it sh*t together and fixes your Internet service, but there are a lot of restrictions with doing that and unless you have an Android phone, it is not really a solution that works well.

Hi
Thank you for that information. I have already maxed out the hotspot plans on 2 work phones and my personal att cell phone. Unfortunately I have to go with easy to use for my husband, so I did what I thought I would never do again, I am having Comcast installed. I have 30 days to cancel, so ATT has 29 days to get their sh** together. To be clear, I understand stuff happens and there was damage due to the high winds in TN last week. But the absolute lack of knowledge from Customer Service and tech support was infuriating. One day there is an outage, the next day there is no outage. As far as previous comments on finding parts, c'mon man. It has been a week.

Hi. Can you tell me if your services were ever restored? I'm down for over a week and they can't tell me why or when they will be back up.
