Unable to Order with Fraud Alert
I tried placing an order online for AT&T internet and once I got to the soft credit check portion, it bounced me out and gave me a number to call (which was AT&T Wireless and couldn't help). I tried the online chat and they tried to complete the order and were unable to as well. They said I needed to unfreeze my credit. I told them it was currently unfrozen (I had to unfreeze to get a new car loan recently) and was able to verify. She had me try calling AT&T instead. I called and was told that I have remove my fraud alert on all 3 bureaus (not an option as I've had extensive credit fraud using my information that was part of a data breach years ago AND it takes well over a month to do as one has to mail all information in due to it being a fraud alert). The final kicker was that because I cannot place the order online, I would not be eligible for an additional $150 prepaid card. Anyone been able to get through the ordering process with a fraud alert and their credit NOT frozen (Experian, Equifax, & TransUnion)?

Let's get your internet order completed, nsarakas.
In order to better help you, our suggestion is that you give our sales office all by dialing 1-800-288-2020. They will try to put in your order manually. If there are any problems, they will find out how to get them resolved.
If there is anything else that we can do, please let us know.
Thank you for using the AT&T Community Forums.

The 800-288-2020 was the original place I called and they were not able to help. I ended up having to call AT&T Wireless (844-359-5263) to get someone who knew how to work around a fraud alert. There really should be a better way to handle this.
