New Homes on Entire Street need ATT Fiber Internet Activation

Hi Team,

We have moved to new home where they have laid att fiber cables but our address is showing as "not serviceable". When ever we call customer care they will shift calls from one department to another but never gives definitive answer why our homes cant get the service. What can we do to get service activated to put in order for att fiber internet connection.

If none can currently order service, the fiber is not yet activated and may be waiting for additional equipment to be installed (terminals, PFP, splitters) or final splicing / testing… the above could be 30 to 90 days out.

If others can order, just not your address, need to call and request an address validation case be opened. Given a case number with response hopefully within 30 days.

Edit… is local cable company an option. If yes, order cable until the fiber service is available.

Is there any way that we can speed up the process or contact specific department?

No… work can be delayed for a number of reasons… until all work is completed and checked do not expect partial release of some addresses…. Kind of an all or nothing.

Consider your other options which may include the local cable company, cellular hotspot or satellite service until ATT fiber is available.

One neighborhood in our area was scheduled to be live in March 2022, actual activation and ordering was available beginning of July about 100 days later.

Thank you. At least can you provide a contact number of specific department where they can provide status update on where we are, I mean at what stage it is?

No… there is only one number…

800-288-2020

This group of front facing customer service reps would have no information on any specifics for any location within 21 state footprint.

Your best bet is locating the local  ATT workers that are doing the construction work, then might be given a general expected date.

We're here to shed some light on Fiber availability, @msasi!

We've got a helpful Forums post that explains why service may not be available just yet.

If your house was just built, there is a chance line or equipment has not been set up. There's a lot that goes into servicing an area like permit requests, engineers creating blueprints, adding the lines/other equipment, etc. These things can all contribute to Fiber not being available right away.

We're constantly working to expand our fiber footprint to more households every day. If you’d like to check if service is available to you now or to sign up for a notification if it does become available in the future, please visit att.com/NotifyMe.

We'll send you a notification via your preferred method as soon as AT&T Fiber becomes available to you.

Our teams do not have information about if or when services will be available. We wish we did. The only thing we can do is what is mentioned above like checking your address, requesting a check, or request to be notified.

Please feel free to reach back out if you need help in the future. Thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums!
