How AT&T Fiber internet is not available in my place?

I just bought a place that has Fiber connection and all the equipment, I just need the service but in the page is showing that is not available but looks like old owner had AT&T Fiber, We still have AT&T Fiber connection, cables, connection box from AT&T with their Brand Logo, I chat with one agent and they said is not available in my location, can someone explain how this is possible? I have pictures, I may wrong and is not Fiber but looks exactly as Fiber cable (Duplex).

Post the pictures, let's see what you've got.

What services does AT&T show your address is eligible for?

Did you check the neighbors address to determine if residential fiber is an available option?

If neighbors cannot order and your address also shows not available leaves (2) possible thoughts….

1) equipment is not fiber

2) the previous owner ordered dedicated business fiber which is much more expensive and is not residential service therefore not available to order.

What is Duplex? All AT&T residential fiber is single mode fiber. As @tonydi inquired above a few pictures will really help us understand to equipment that was installed.

We don't need everything. Just the major points: box outside, box inside an example of the end of one of the sections of Fiber cable with connector if possible as the connector color and type can very helpful.

Another key question how long have you lived there and do you know when the previous owner or tenant left? It a third party ISP was using AT&T Fiber they may still have the circuit assigned to them.

If that's the case then AT&T can't reclaim the Fiber circuit without following a tedious process.

Hello @reylie99. We appreciate you reaching out to us about the fiber equipment in your home and fiber availability in your area.

Our Aces have provided some excellent advice. And we would definitely like to see some pictures if you have them! That will help us verify the kind of service that was installed in your new home and how to proceed.

If you believe you should have fiber in your area, you can fill out an Address Research Request Form. We will take a second look in your area to determine if your availability was processed in error, and notify you by email when fiber does become available in your area.

You can also go to our website to get sign up to be notified when fiber becomes available. You can get started by typing in your address there, or scrolling down and clicking "Notify me."

Please let us know if this helped out.
