Fiber plans?

How would I know if my address is in the plans for us to get ATT Fiber. I have 25 MBps DSL line from last 17 years and no signs of fiber. I experience packet loss and wondering if there is a way I would know this before making a switch?

Zip code?

Is any fiber being deployed in your zip code?

As ATT continues their 10 year (2016-end 2025) fiber buildout to reach 30 million addresses within 21 state footprint, the goal is 50% of all hardwired addresses (60 million total).

Some zip codes are already over 80% while others are less than 20%, so the 50% is overall not 50% of each zip code.

With about 12 million more to add out of estimated 42 million in 3.5 years you can suspect fiber is coming when you see contractors working on the poles or burying orange conduit.

In the meantime do what is best for you, you can always switch to fiber after it is ready.

Just my thoughts

We're here to help provide you information on when Fiber will be available, madhukolla!

There can be multiple reasons why Fiber isn't available yet, such as the following:

    1. Distance – AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.

    2. Equipment is not available – To get service, AT&T Internet equipment has to be in the area. In some instances, it isn't. We do not have information if or when it will be.

    3. The area is not built for U-verse – Some areas are not U-verse ready. The Community team does not have information if or when it will be. Distance and equipment can play a key in instances like this.

We are still in the process of expanding the network to provide the most coverage to our customers. You can access our Coverage Map where you can check availability at your address.

If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thank you for being a part of our AT&T Community!
