Fiber Availability

The fiber lines have been run through my neighborhood. One neighbor, whose backyard meets my backyard, has been connected but it still shows as unavailable to me. The pole they ran his from is located where our yards meet. My house is actually closer to the pole than his is. Neither of us is across a road from the pole nor from each other. Is there anyone I can talk to about this? When I call the number, all I get is the same "not available" with a bunch of sales pitches for other ATT services tossed in.

Do the houses on either side of you have fiber available?

At least one does, the one I mentioned. My yard is 'pentagon' shaped ... we have neighbors on 4 sides and the street in front. The lines run from pole to pole to pole along 3 sides of my property (not on the street side). I have not polled the neighbors to see if they have been connected. When mowing my yard I could see where the line had been buried from the pole to the one house and a couple of days later I saw the technician at the pole and I talked to him to verify that he was connecting that house to the fiber line. So, I know it is active and available to that pole, what I need is for someone to explain why the neighbor could get it but it's unavailable to me. Like I said, my house is closer to the pole than his is. The tech said there are 8 connections (drops?) available at that pole.
