ATT Fibre Availability

I know we have fibre coming to this area because a truck just drove by advertising "please visit att.com/NotifyMe".  When I use this link, it takes me to my address offering me 100mbps speed service with no option to get notified.  Work has been going on around here.  When I call, the agents don't have an answer for when it will be ready or option to get notified.  This advertising doesn't help either.  I'd love to share the right process to get notified on NextDoor if I can get an answer that works.  Thanks.  Jesse Oquendo, [email scrubbed]

In my observations if your an existing ATT internet customer you will be contacted by phone / mail before general release to the neighborhood which in many cases is accomplished by direct door to door sales force

3rd party that will have ATT polo shirts and a contractor badge (red) instead of the blue employee badge. 

This advance calling / contact may occur up to 2 weeks before the neighborhood is scheduled to go live with most all installs happening within first 8 weeks then a different neighborhood is turned green. As limited equipment / techs to perform installs at desired rate of 1 million per year throughout the 21 states this is an average of 3225 fiber installs every day Monday to Saturday or 310 days. I believe last year 2022 had close to 1.2 million installs or average 300,000 per quarter for 100,000 average per month.

Also in my experience, you do not want to be first or even in first 50% as your service could be affected by later installs especially if the drops are being buried therefore recommend about 6 weeks after can order to place your order. 

Just my thoughts… 

FYI… the expected take rate in the first year is around 35 to 38% of of homes passed. If your neighborhood is 200+ addresses about 75 will take the service in first 12 months with 60 of those being the first 2 months. Result is possible to have 5+ installs every day initially and then start declining.

efit… addresses will not show fiber speeds availability till after neighborhood is turned green for ordering. In some cases, equipment shortages can delay the activation date from 30 to 90 days from scheduled date… thus no information of scheduled date will be available till after already activated.
