AT&T door to door question

Yesteday, I was visited by a door-to-door salesperson selling AT&T fiber connection. I was interested to sign up, so they provided me with an iPAD to sign up. It asked for my SSN and DoB which I provided. Shortly afterwards, I received emails from AT&T about my order and ATT account. One of the emails had a dealer name Smart Circle D2D. I am wondering if SSN and DoB are usually asked for by ATT for new orders? Does getting emails from ATT mean that the salesperson was legit?

Also I have a Dealer Code and an Office ID in the order receipt they gave me. Can someone from AT&T check if these are legit?
