If your yard was damaged by AT&T technicians, then you'll want to go ahead and file a property damage claim. Property damage claims are handled by our claims provider, Sedgwick, and they can be contacted at 855-365-4976.

Before you call, please have the following information readily available:

• Location – The physical address or GPS coordinates for the location where damage occurred.
• Photos – Include close-ups and wide views of the area damaged. If possible, include photos of the person, vehicle, or equipment that caused the damage. Photos can be from cameras, cell phones, or other devices.

ATT damaged my irrigation system and my grass when they hired a contractor to install fiber optic line in my neighborhood.  I filed with Sedgewick as I was instructed and they simply said that it's not ATT's fault I must take it up with the contractor. (claim#2211002523-01). Well guess who refuses to get back with me - the contractor ANSCO.  They have zero motivation to.  They did their work, got paid and they are gone.  ATT on the other hand, should make restitution for this damage since they purport to be a reputable company and they directed this work to be done and they will benefit from this fiber optic work being done.  It is absolutely absurd that this damage was done in August and i have had to fight this hard to get reimbursed $275 from a very large corporation that just decided to come into my yard and destroy things that my hard earned middle class money paid for.

Well, here in Fort Worth, TX. They've torn out my French Drains on both sides of my house,  ruined the front half of my yard and sprinkler system. And have been told it on the easement and that they're not responsible for anything that occurs during AT&T fiber optic lines installation. I'll be submitting a complaint via BBB and contacting a lawyer. This is actually happening in real time. I'm actively seeking a cease and desist order at this time. 

Check with you local property tax authority (Tarrant County) to see where the Utility Easement is.  If the work was done WITHIN the designated Utility Easement, there's not a lot you can do and if you had work done within that Utility Easement, that is a problem.

You can certainly contact the BBB.  Those are forwarded to the OOP. 

So, anyone/utility can damage property and not be held responsible?  

A utility can do what needs to be done in a UTILITY EASEMENT.  If the damage is on PRIVATE PROPERTY, that's another matter.

Who told you the damage was in the UTILITY EASEMENT? 

The contractor that AT&T hired to run their fiber optic cable(s).

I would definitely confirm that info with the office of Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector.
