Wiring new home under Construction
My house is currently under construction. It's still in the framing stages at the moment. I know I want to have AT&T Fiber installed (I've had it for the previous 2 years at other homes). How can I ensure the house is wired properly so I can have the Fiber Converter installed in a specific location and that makes it easier for the tech to connect it up when the home is ready?

Ideally you should run conduit (with low bend radii) from where you expect the fiber to arrive at your home to the location where you expect to place the AT&T Gateway. Don't forget pull strings (you may want several, just in case). Don't forget to provide for Cat5e or better from the Gateway to locations for Wi-Fi access points or any other high bandwidth consumers. A structured wiring cabinet with a patch panel would be the bomb.

Thanks. I am indeed planning to install a quality patch panel and a POE switch in a central closet set aside specifically for this. I am a firm believer that if I can hardwire something, I will hardwire it.
I didn't think of running a conduit like that. I wasn't sure if they used fiber all the way in or if they could use any coax from outside to the closet.

The current new installation practice is to run fiber to the Gateway. The BGW320 gateways have an on-board ONT and use a protocol-specific SFP as a transceiver for the fiber. At worst, you'd get a separate ONT, which you could install at the same location as the Gateway. AT&T doesn't use coax on installs anymore except for DIRECTV.

Thanks! I'll get with the electrician when he is doing the wiring and get him to run the conduit for me then. Thanks for the suggestions!
