Salesman asking for info
They come in and ask for my info I give it to them and I asked them to be clear ,am I paying for this . They stated no ,if you decide to get the plan they’ll have your info , if not nothing is charged . The apparently I got an email stating to confirm it. Then I call AT&T and long story short, they can’t tell me anything about the account that is linked to my name. They then send me to fraud and all the line does is disconnect on the person . I NEED HELPP

Was this a door-to-door salesman? Did you purchase internet from AT&T and then someone appeared at your door? A little more information would be helpful.

Yes door to door. They asked for my ss# on an iPad to see if I was qualified then they said I had to confirm my email which I didn’t and couldn’t . I gave them no ach or card . But it shows I have an account under my number

AT&T doesn't do unsolicited door-to-door sales unless you purchased an internet install and then someone from AT&T may call on you to try and sell you cellular serve or upgrade your current plan.
That was probably an independent reseller and they are sketchy. If you gave them your ssn then that's all they need, along with your name and address to scam you and steal your identity. I would report this to the police and AT&T Fraud, if you can get a hold of them. I would also notify your cc companies and start checking your accounts at least twice a week for a month or so to see if any suspicious activity appears and then periodically for a few months.
