Inside Fiber Optic Cable length from fiber jack to AT&T modem limitations?
I scheduled an installer to come out and hook up new AT&T fiber optic 1G internet. I do not have a previous fiber install, so he would have had to lay the outside wire on the grass, and have someone bury it later. that part was ok.
Inside the house, however, he told me the modem can only be connected to the wall with a 12 foot long fiber cable limiting where I locate the modem. this does not sound right to me... I should be able to connect that with a 500 foot cable if I wanted to, right? we were having some communication issues talking to each other. Other forum threads showed 25meter cables from fibertronics and Amazon, singlemode simplex 9/125 SC/APC to SC/APC.
I didn't get the modem model number, he said it had built in wifi so I wouldn't need my old router anymore.
