Been waiting forever

Our community has been promised for years to get AT&T Fiber and still nothing. Have been receiving mailers about it but still unavailable. I remember the Fiber Optic cable was laid years ago but still nothing. What is the delay? Want another option besides Cable High Speed Internet.

My community you mean zip code?

Area fiber is zip code not specific development, subdivision, neighborhood or street.

When the fiber was laid years ago, where was it heading?

To a new greenfield development of apartment, condo, subdivision? Or business park, school, government, cell tower? Or upgrade to existing neighborhood?

What speed tier is available at your address? If 100, 75, 50 or 25 this is FTTN or FIBER TO THE NODE and may been the fiber that was laid if between 2006 to end 2015.

Current direct to the premise (FTTP) deployment started in 2016 at average rate of 3 million addresses per year to end 2025 within 21 state footprint or 50% of hardwired footprint. Would require new fiber terminals either aerial on poles or ground level as pedestal or hand hole.

Community I mean town. Workers tore up  everyone’s lawn and said it was fiber optic for AT&T. Zip code 70075. 50 has been available for 10yrs. Keep getting mailers for 500 and 1gig but not available.

Underground, several years ago would have required pedestals, was any new round cylinders placed every few houses? If not that fiber went someplace else.

Internet 50 is FTTN, more likely to be upgraded eventually to FTTP but may not be by end of current fiber build out in 2 years. I suspect a 3rd (5) year build out from 2026 to end 2030 will occur completing the FTTN transition to FTTP as fiber is already at the VRAD would require placing a PFP then installing fiber with terminal placement before upgrading could be accomplished.

The zip code has a population around 7200 estimate 2900 household with about 84% receiving some form of Uverse hardwired connection or about 2400. Some of those 2400 already have fiber, using the address checker would show where if interested in relocating to ATT Fiber otherwise continue to wait for IF, WHEN moment that is not guaranteed to happen.

New pedestals not existing being used for internet 50?

Newer Copper pedestals are generally round top with round base while fiber pedestals are round top with square base…. Pics?
