ATT Fiber line runs right by my house, but the website says ATT Fiber Internet is unavailable
I live in a rural area and the only internet provider I have is the local utilities company. Their service isn't very good. Some number of months ago ATT ran a fiber line past my house and I am trying to see if it's possible to get ATT fiber internet service from it. I have called customer support but they mostly just seem to check the website and tell me it's unavailable. Is there any way to talk to someone who might know the area better or have someone come out and look at it. The line is 100ft from my house. (more info here) ATT owns a line of poles that run up my road. They have old phone lines on them that are like 50 years old. They ran a fiber line up my road using these poles. The workers said they thought I should be able to get internet from it but they weren't sure because they are just the people who install the line. Nobody here is using it for internet as far as I know. I don't even know if people know it's here. I think they are using it to connect two larger areas of their fiber network. I lived 4 years in a city with fiber and it would be amazing to be able to get it back.

I'm in the same boat and theres a line literally running through my property 20 feet from my house that is fiber. Would love to pay to connect to it.

That’s probably a main trunk line going to a city or town. Those aren’t designed to be tapped into for residential service.

If they are going to set it up for residential use, it may take a while, they ran the fiber in my backyard about two months ago. Then the optisheath terminal block next the the copper terminal and named it with the address-2 about a month ago and its still not available.
If you see something like this near where your home phone lines would normally connect, its a good sign it will eventually be available. The contractor just ran the fiber, but people in ATT trucks installed the terminal block. There are lots of steps, but these are the two most visible.

I have a similar issue people laid underground AT&T fiber in my front yard with a cylindrical post with orange top that says AT&T fiber on one side of my drive way and big rectangular box on the other side of my side of my drive way a year ago yet I am told AT&T internet isn't available at my address.

AT&T ran fiber along the easement of my property. They provided Internet service to a more densely situated neighborhood 1.5 miles down the road from me that already had Internet service options (we have satellite only). AT&T service is unavailable at my property though I can stand on the AT&T fiber junction box that is buried in my yard. I'm not certain but I suspect that taxpayer (me/us) BEAD funding was used for the project. If so, that adds insult to injury.
