AT&T Fiber go straight into the home?

1. Yes, either to the ONT or 320 jack they will Mount.

2. Really no preparation needed, just be cool to the technician. 
3. Yes.

4. No, it’s all the same equipment, just a phone call is needed to up your speed.

5. You have to use ATTs gateway, unless there is some trick someone knows how not to.

If you have a 9-11 install window chances are they should be on time. Additionally, most technicians will notify their customers if they are running late or cannot make it.

Oh yeah, I have all day and I'm in no hurry, 🙂.  I asked these questions because I have nothing but the cable from the cable company coming into the home right now.

Thanks for all the responses.  I don't have any phone lines coming into the place since haven't had a landline in ages and the only cables that come in are for the Directv Dish and on the other side where the Cox Cable comes in to feed my modem..... I guess I'll show them the side where the Cox Cable comes in...that Cox Internet cable just comes across on top of the roof, down the side, and into a  hole in side of the building. 

I'm thinking(hoping) it's an easy one for the AT&T Technician.  

I just had Spectrum for many years here and finally got fiber in August. The installed the fiber infrastructure a few years ago when they tore up the yards and i never mad the switch until recently. I guess i was under the impression sometimes as well that it would a task and they'd have to drill holes and whatever. It really wasn't bad at all. The tech ran a fresh line from the front lawn by the easement area to the side of the home and ran the line through the soffits into the attic. It will depend on your installation setup on how they'll run the line but they'll figure it out. Be prepared though for the cable to not be buried for a week plus. 

Thanks for the feedback.  I *suspect* that the AT&T fiber is actually on the telephone poles running along behind the place.  I haven't seen them dig up the road out front and I've been 34+years.  At least I hope so since I keep reading all the stories about trenching/digging/burying fiascos.  There is nowhere to dig behind the place since all the backyards are back-to-back where the telephone poles run.  Cable, phone, and electric lines all come off there that's why I'm guessing the Fiber may also.

Ok.  Technician showed up as scheduled.  Ran fiber from the pole behind the building, over the roof, through a new little hole, hooked it all up, and it is working like a dream.  Easily doing the advertised 300 Mbps.
