ATT Damaged My Sprinkler System and Yard Burring Fiber

Three separate issues. 1. The machine ATT used to bury Fiber on my property after my installation damaged my lawn. I have ruts and dead spots where the machine travelled over.  2. I had to call out a landscaper to isolate a sprinkler system issue. They discovered the sprinkler line was damaged at the location where ATT bored under my driveway while burring my neighbors fiber.  The water from my damaged pipe was flowing through the hole that was bored.   The landscaper had to dig up from the point the water was coming up in my yard back along the buried fiber until he found the source of the leak.  3.  When reporting the claim I had to call back a number of times.  The first few people I spoke to lacked a basic understanding of English and were unable to understand the issue I was reporting.  The last person kind of understood what I was saying.  I don't have a lot of confidence they fully understood my issue or entered the information correctly.  ATT should have damage claims handled by a US call center.  I am sure I am not the only person feeling this level of frustration. This has to be impacting customer retention. How do I contact a manager from a US call center so I can discuss this situation?

AT&T claims are handled through Sedgwick, their claims administrator.

If you need to file a new claim, have the following information available:

  • Location – The physical address or GPS coordinates for the location where damage occurred.
  • Photos – Include close-ups and wide views of the area damaged. If possible, include photos of the person, vehicle, or equipment that caused the damage. Photos can be from cameras, cell phones, or other devices.

Once you have the information together, call the Sedgwick Claim Center at 1-800-246-8464, 8am - 4:30pm CST

Once the administrator receives the information, they will assign it to a claims examiner. The examiner will generally contact you within 3-5 business days to discuss the report and get additional information.

We're happy to help with your damage claim, @jimh70458.

We have information on AT&T property claims for damages. As @Constructive mentioned, you will need to file a new claim and you will need the following information:

  • Location – The physical address or GPS coordinates for the location where damage occurred.
  • Photos – Include close-ups and wide views of the area damaged. If possible, include photos of the person, vehicle, or equipment that caused the damage. Photos can be from cameras, cell phones, or other devices.

Once you have the information together, call 1-800-288-2020 and ask to file a new claim.

If an AT&T representative has given you a claim number and you haven’t heard anything in 24 hours, or you’ve already filed a claim and want to follow up, call 855.462.6537 to check the status.

If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for contacting us on AT&T Community Forums!

Are you actually suggesting to bypass ATT and go straight to their insurance carrier to file a claim.  In what world does that make sense?  How about ATT hire a US call center to take these claims.  The larger issue is that their overseas call centers are employing individuals with a poor language skills and are unable to effectively understand and document issues.  If this isn't corrected, ATT is going to experience some very serious customer retention issues.

You must not call many companies for support.
