Why is PC Wi-Fi Slower than Phone?

I have AT&T fiber.

My BGW320-500 gateway speed test is 965/903

Wi-Fi speed test on my phone is 716/429

Wi-Fi speed test on PC is 230/180

PC and phone Wi-Fi speed test done from the same location

All devices are Wi-FI 6

Why is my PC so much slower than my phone?

Could be the WiFi card or associated software associated with the PC. It's not an AT&T issue.

It could also be that the PC is connecting to the 2.4GHz band while the phone is clearly connecting to the 5GHz band.  If you're on Win10 go to Settings / Network & Internet / click on the SSID name and scroll down to Properties.  Capture the data shown there and post it back here.  On Win11, click the Start button, type network and select View your network properties, click Wifi then View additional Properties.

Both will get you to the place where it shows which band you're on, link speed, etc.   Copy/paste (or take a screencap) and post that info here.

Yep, refreshing the stack like that is never a bad thing to try, but I think I'm going to chalk it up to the card swap.  😁

Anyway, glad you're speeding along now!

No... the card swap was on a different PC, a laptop, unrelated to the desktop where I saw the poor performance. The Desktop PC already had a Wi-Fi 6 card.  That laptop was even slower. The stack refresh helped some on the laptop, but the Wi-Fi 6 card really pepped it up

Thanks
