New Wifi 6 Router

I have just purchased an ASUS XT8 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh router. I currently have ATT Fiber (1000Mb Internet) and the old 5268ac Pace router. Here are my questions: What is the best way to set up my new router? Is setting up the Pace router for passthrough the best option? Will that slow down this new router? How can I minimize the impact if I must do passthrough? I am obviously not a tech expert, so forgive my ignorance!

Thanks so much in advance!!!

If you can't set the AT&T gateway to bridge mode then all you can do is enable pass through  to disable the router portion and let the ASUS do all the heavy lifting. AT&T's supplied equipment is not the most robust around but you should see an improvement in your WiFi. WiFi6 is the next step up in WiFi protocols and the improvement should be noticeable provided all of your WiFi connected devices support WiFi6.

Ended up enabling pass through and everything seems to be working very well. Thanks!!!
