Live streaming keeps buffering.

Live streaming keeps buffering making shows unwatchable.  Why does it do that and how can I stop it?

We hear you, and happy to guide you @tonync1221!

We recommend that you try optimizing your Wi-Fi internet speed. For more information please visit our website about Optimizing your internet speed.

Learn how to speed up your connection when encountering slow surfing speeds.

If issue persists, please try these below basic troubleshooting steps:

You can fix many common internet issues by restarting your modem, Wi-Fi gateway or All-Fi Hub. Here’s how:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of your device. If you have:
    • An internal battery backup, remove it.
    • DSL service, unplug your telephone cord from your modem or gateway.
  2. Wait 20 seconds.
  3. Put the internal battery back in, if applicable.
  4. Plug the power cord back in. If you have DSL service, reconnect the telephone cord.
  5. Wait up to 10 minutes for the gateway or hub to restart.

For more information please visit our website about Troubleshoot your internet.

In some cases, even the best location for your Wi-Fi gateway doesn't provide a strong enough Wi-Fi signal. One way to help this is to install a Wi-Fi extender. Learn more about AT&T Wi-Fi extenders.

Hey there @tonync1221,

We got you, let's get this sorted out as soon as possible.

The Troubleshoot & Resolve app on your TV is designed to diagnose and resolve service and connectivity issues. This tool also assists with common tasks such as programming your U-verse remote control, configuring, and managing your home network, setting up your voicemail, and optimizing computer settings for the best surfing experience.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot your issue:
    1. Press Menu on the U-verse Remote Control.
    2. Scroll down to Help, then press OK.
    3. Select Information.
    4. Scroll to Troubleshoot & Resolve, then press OK.
    5. Select the area you want to troubleshoot.
    6. Allow the interactive diagnostic test to run and complete.
    7. Follow the onscreen instructions to attempt to resolve the issue online.

If the issue cannot be resolved on the spot, you can request a call back within the tool itself. You can also manage dispatch repair appointments, suspend or resume troubleshooting and reset passwords for email accounts.

Let us know how it goes.

Please feel free to reach out to us for further assistance.

Thank you,

I'm sorry James.  I guess I should have been clearer in my post.  I do not have U-verse, just the high speed internet service.

Hey again @tonync1221,

No problem, we got it now.

We recommend prioritizing your device using the Smart Home Manager app.

Prioritize device

You can use this process to prioritize which devices get the strongest signal in your network.

  1. Select the device you wish to prioritize and choose Prioritize device. The device will have the best internet access for up to two hours.
  2. When you’re ready to change priorities, choose End priority.

Good to know: You can prioritize up to two devices at a time.

Before you prioritize your device, we recommend rebooting your gateway.

  1. Sign in to Smart Home Manager and select Network.
  2. Scroll to and select Home Network Hardware.
  3. Select Wi-Fi Gateway and then Restart.
  4. Select Restart again.
